ArtSpace/ El Dorado Arts Council’s Call To Artists:

*Opportunity for local 2D artists to display art for sale at downtown merchant with an artist reception to be on 3rd Saturday Placerville ArtWalk.  Artist must be a member in good standing with the El Dorado Arts Council. To be considered, please send one digital image of good resolution to Laura Washburn at artspace@eldoradoartscouncil.org and an artist bio.                                                                                                

*On May 16, 2013 at 5:30pm there will be a general meeting for the following shows The Overflow, and Telling Yarns. All members of our artistic community are inviting to join and share in the creative process. For details on the shows please see our website, www.eldoradoartscouncil.org 

*On The Cusp! Calling all Artists between the ages of 18 to 30 years old! El Dorado Arts Council is holding an exhibit just for you! The show will take place June 4-29, 2013. All Media is welcome including 3D. Requirements are that all participating artists must live in El Dorado County, be members of EDAC ($35 a year/$10 for students), and be between the ages of 18 to 30. In addition all work must be original and for sale. The exhibit is juried so all work submitted may not be selected. Work should be dropped off at ArtSpace, 459 Main Street Placerville, Ca 95667, between May 28 – June 1, 2013 during hours of operation (10:30 AM to 5:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday). Artists will be notified of selection by June 5, 2013. There will be an Artists Reception on June 15, 2013 between 6 – 9 PM. This reception is held in conjunction with the Placerville 3rd Saturday ArtWalk. *PAINT OUT!!!!!Calling Artists to join in the first ever El Dorado Arts Council and Placerville Arts Association joint PAINT OUT! Paint outside anywhere in El Dorado County on May 18, 2013 and become part of exhibit at EDAC’s ArtSpace Gallery, 459 Main Street Placerville, CA 95667. To participate artists are to check in at ArtSpace on May 18, 2013 between 9 and 10 AM. Artists are to provide their own supplies and to get permission to paint (if permission is needed) in locations of the artists choosing. Completed works are to be returned to ArtSpace between 4 & 6 PM May 18th. Artists of all ages are invited to take part in this event. There is no charge or membership required for this event. Art work does need to have a sturdy support such as mat or foamcore in order to be displayed informally on easels; framing is not required. Work should be for sale. Art will be displayed from May 18 through June 1, 2013. Artists are requested and invited to return for Placerville’s 3rd Saturday ArtWalk between 6 and 9 PM to meet the public. There will be PEOPLE”S CHOICE AWARDS given with prizes. That way we, as creative beings, can remain open and flexible. One of the many great opportunities that EDAC offers is one in which artists can expand their techniques and subject matter. It’s an exploration into how an artist uses materials and experiments with new ideas.
