on their taxes this year, there would be $15 million for the arts for
children and
communities.

be made on Form 540 or Form 540EZ or even through TurboTax - see line
415 on the "Contributions" section. Please consider
donating when you file your return!

ArtSpace
El
Dorado County is going (crazy) quilts! EDAC is hosting an
exhibition and sale of quilts created by members of the local quilting
guilds Gold Bug Quilters, Needle Nellies, and Dorcas. Meet the quilters
at an open reception on March 19 (3rd Saturday) from 6-9 pm at

local quilts - a perfect way to celebrate Women's History month. For
more information please visit museum and eldoradolibrary.
"Quilters"

Starting
March 25 the musical "Quilters"
will be performed at Imagination Theater in Placerville. Moving, true
stories of pioneer women are portrayed "in the round,"

Kate
Gaffney in Concert
Friday,
April 1, 7-9 pm at ArtSpace
Concert
#3 in Cold Nights, HOT
Tickets series

Gather at
ArtSpace with art-loving friends around bistro tables, enjoy a
specialty coffee, beer or local wines, and experience the smokey,
blues-tinged vocals of Kate Gaffney as she delivers country-rock
arrangements in our intimate music venue. ArtSpace, located at 459 Main
Street in Placerville, has surprisingly great acoustics, and is small
enough that you'll be able to converse with Kate when she's on
break.
Two or more
seats can be had by joining or renewing your EDAC membership at the
$100 level or higher. Your family membership is included! The cost for
the musicians was underwritten by the Sacramento Region Community
Foundation, so your donation goes to support our wonderful community
programs.

Arts Census
During
October 2010 EDAC and the El Dorado County Office of Economic
Development conducted an Arts
Census. The purpose was to take the pulse of the artists,
art venues, art organizations and art businesses in El Dorado County.
Surveys indicate artists are struggling. They love working in their
community due to the people, fellow artists, and beautiful landscape,
but would like more advertising/promotion and consider events to be
their best venue for making money. Click to see the complete summary report (also available
at EDAC) or visit the County website.
